Snowed in...

yes, you read right! The weather has been a little chilly and white here lately, and my car will not make it out to the main road...so, I am 'snowed in'. What better reason do I need to scrap?! LOL (like I need a reason?)
So I joined a couple of photo swaps on two of the online sites I am a member of, they are always so much fun! Here are the pages I did and then I will post the pages I get back.
I'll post some snow pictures and kitchen remodel (still in the works, not done yet) later, also.

Sharing time...

Just wanted to share the belly, LOL...she had some pics taken by my sister the other day and I had to scrap the ones I got so far!
It snowed all day yesterday, and it has been windy. Brrr, it is chilly!
Soon there will be lots of 'new kitchen' photos to share, we got the walls out and most of the cupboards in, now to get the plumbing done, the floor and the rest of the pantries and bench.

The countdown has started...

Some may think I am talking about Christmas, and yes-I guess that may be true. But what I am really talking about is the Grandbaby countdown!
Ashley went to her 1st Dr's appt since being back home (insurance companies and doctors offices take too darn long!!) and the doctor told her the baby is moving downward correctly, her cervix is preparing and she will start to feel the changes...we are almost 3 weeks from the due date guys! YIKES and YIPPEE!! LOL-seriously! She has had some of the pressure feeling and cramping already, and she has a book I got her when she first got prego and has been reading it all along. We are going to need to get practicing on those breathing methods and focusing on items other than PAIN...
Oh, and Charles (daddy and BF) has his first job interview tomorrow afternoon! YEAH!!!! He has turned in so many applications, I cannot even believe it has taken this long. So cross your fingers, legs, arms and eyes that he gets this job-he's got a baby comin'!
We are working on the kitchen, have cabinets going up today and tomorrow. Then we have to tear out what used to be the kitchen and tear down a wall, then we can finish the cabinets and island and it will be pretty much ready to go!! I cannot wait, I am SO tired of living in Remodel World!

Brrr, it's a little chilly...

Can you believe that Christmas is only 31 days away?! Where has the time gone? Life has been so crazy busy this past year, and I am totally unprepared for the Holidays!!
We are remodeling the kitchen, which means taking out a wall and a pantry and adding all new cupboards, counters, sinks and wiring...
My daughter, her BF and the unborn grandbaby have moved back in, which has been pretty much all I have been able to focus on these past few months...
Work has been long and exhausting, both mentally and physically...
It is chilly outside, I am tired and moody-tomorrow I have an annual exam (past due) and full bloodwork. I started taking Sam-e Mood Plus, and I really haven't noticed a change. Will have LOTS to talk to the new doctor about tomorrow, have a list going!
Oh, and besides the fact that Christmas is almost here, and I have no cards made (especially since all of the SB goodies are in the cramped room where my daughter and her bf are staying)-I just recently realized that this will be the first ever Christmas without my son!! I am pretty depressed about that, at times to the point of crying. The Holidays and my children are very special to me, and this one bites really hard.

Have had some free time to do some digi-scrapping though, love it when it just comes together so quick and easily! Here are a few pages to share.

Did this page this morning for a challenge-the challenge was to scrap a tradition in your family.
It was a lot of fun to do, and it also brought up memories and made me a little sad that the kids are all grown up and it won't be the same now that they are mostly all gone (I do have two at home, but one is 15 and the other will be hopefully moving out on her own now that she has her own little family started...keep your fingers crossed that he gets a job and they can get out on their own soon!).
Anyway, my point is to CHERISH each and every moment you have with the ones you love...all too soon they will be either gone or far away, and things will just not be the same.
Makes me a little sad, that's all...but I am known to be a sap when it comes to these things.

Imagine children and adults being hungry, so hungry that eventually they aren't hungry anymore...when they get their next meal it is more appreciative than many of us may ever know. It just breaks my heart.

If you can do nothing more than donate food from your cupboards, PLEASE do so. And not only at this time of year, people are going hungry on a daily basis. If you can donate your old coats, shoes and clothing...just imagine how that could help someone less fortunate than yourself (and if you are in your warm home on your computer, on the internet-I'd call that pretty fortunate, wouldn't you?)

Thank heaven you have what you have, and appreciate it every day...give unto others as you would have others do unto you. BELIEVE IN THAT, if you are more into spiritual ideas-KARMA is the same thing.

Put a smile on someones face today, tomorrow and next week, trust me-it will make you feel good too.

It's fall y'all...

The leaves are changing and falling, the air is cold and the scent of wood fires is in the air...
Today is Election Day, did you vote? Every election year is important, but this one seems to be even more so than usual...it has been a very different one, that is for sure.
An update-Ashley and Charles have moved home, we just picked them up yesterday in Sacramento at my sisters, and I got to also spend some time with Willie. I wish we all lived closer together, I miss my family.

Did you know...

That there is a Digital Scrapbook Day? The Second Annual one is November 1st! I knew there was a National SB Day in May, but this one I never knew about until the other day...if you are a digi scrapper, there are all kinds of things going on, just check out your fave sites!
Been a little busy scrapping, got the bug...and it isn't one you wish would go away! LOL Here are a few pages, I need to force myself to get off of the computer and get to packing, Ashley is moving home next weekend and I have to clean out the scrapbook room-which USED to be her bedroom! I am totally excited she is coming home, but bummed I have to clean out the room (because of the work, and because I have to box up my playthings...)

Had to share this one...

It's a blast from the past...when I was a kid, my mom was a Campfire Girl Leader. One year (1979) we were Kiss in the annual Lamb Derby parade on a float...and we ROCKED THE HOUSE! It was really embarrassing, and we were a little scared...but we had a BLAST! It was so much fun up there air guitaring away, one of those moments we'll never forget.

I found these pics in my collection as I was looking for something to scrap...and I am glad I did!!!

Can you believe...

It is already the 21st of October-where does the time go??

Well, my daughter and the bf are moving home...so now I am giving up my scrapbook room temporarily. It isn't a huge loss for two reasons: I spend most of my time on the computer, scrappping and because it means that she is coming home and the baby will be HERE!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!

We've also been fostering some wittle kittens, orange male tabbies that were born on 9/11/08. We rehomed one on Sunday and are waiting to hear from a possible new home thru email...two people 'want' him, so one of them better hurry! Scott is becoming attached, and trying very hard not to.

It's Fall Y'all...

Hey there, it's been a little wet and chilly outside lately...one more excuse to scrap! LOL, no seriously-I need to clean house!
Anyhoo, here are a couple of new pages-haven't had much time to scrap lately with work and real life and all. I had to clean my computer really good, too, since it wasn't wanting to cooperate with me-kept telling my I didn't have enough memory. What's up with that? LOL...I ended up saving all of my zip files onto disks and it took 32 DVD's! Holy Cow! I got another hard drive on the computer, too, so I can move all of my digi scrapping stuff to it. Yeah!!

Awww, look at her!

On Scott and my 5th anniversary, Ashley had a sonogram and discovered she is having a girl!! So, in the next few months I will have a grandaughter...here are a few pix from the sonogram. So sweet-I never had any of these done when I was pregnant with any of my children, insurance wouldn't pay for it.
These are special little pictures--more to come, of course!

Well hello there!

Been a little while...always busy, even when not doing much! LOL
It is officially Scott and my 5th Anniversary today-woohoo, how time flies! We both say it doesn't feel like 5 years, like it should feel 'older'.

We got another cockatoo on Sunday, her name is Katie and she is a citron. She is so little compared to Squeaker-and so QUIET! Her previous owner said she was a screamer, well she apparently never met a muloccan! Katie also seems to not have been handled much or out of her cage-she is well behaved, but a little bewildered when we take her out. She doesn't talk much, other than 'hello' and something that sounds like 'katie'. We also got her cockatiel, as they had been together forever and he would have been quite lonely. So he is sitting next to the 2 girls I already had and Katie is in the front room with Mr Noisy (aka-Squeaker). Everyone seems to be getting along well-we've been keeping a close eye on them all and they are in their own cages otherwise.

Finally got a chance to do some scrapping, thought I would share...I am pretty sure nobody ever reads or looks at this blog, that I am sharing with 'dead air', but who knows-maybe I will be surprised someday and someone will say Hello. Till then, hope y'all have a good Fall!
